Meet the Editor
Charryse R. Berry is the Owner of Academic Writing Consultants, LLC. She has been consulting for 8 years in the areas of job seeking, academics, and small business ownership. Her clients have included adult learners at various stages of their higher educational careers, job seekers of all ages, and new and seasoned small business owners. She has worked with both for profit and non-profit organizations. Specifically, she has worked in a collaborative effort with non-profit organizations in the submitting of proposals to various local, state, and federal grantors.
Ms. Berry has worked at both the state and local levels of government as a Civil Rights Investigator, ensuring the orientation of employees as to their rights and obligations under Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. In this capacity, she received an award of Civil Rights Investigator of the Year with the City of Kansas City, Missouri‘s Human Relations Department. Also, she has worked with both private and non-profit organizations in various customer service and social services positions.
She holds degrees in Human Resources Management (MA), Legal Analysis (MA), Psychology and Communications (BA), which she obtained from Webster University- Kansas City, Missouri and William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. She is a certified paralegal. She has established “Grant Writing 101- KC” to equip persons in the technical skill of writing and submitting proposals.
